Reinforcing Metal Workers install the steel bars and mesh — rebar — that give concrete its strength. Without it, roads and bridges couldn’t handle the loads they carry every day.
As an apprentice, you’ll learn to read plans, then cut and bend rebar to exact specifications. You’ll secure it in forms before concrete is poured, making sure spacing, alignment, and anchoring are all precise.
The structures you reinforce — roads, bridges, foundations — have to meet strict safety and load requirements. No shortcuts.

You’ll coordinate closely with cement masons, carpenters, and other trades to make sure everything is integrated correctly. The work is physical, detail-oriented, and literally embedded in the infrastructure people depend on.
